I have multiple blogs, one personal and others for projects that I have, I trust in WordPress because it’s pretty flexible and since version 3.5 the improvements are awesome, making the writing a lot easier.
Still I had a problem, I’m used to the WordPress app for iOS and Mac to avoid having to load the whole page. It is kind of limited (not all plugins are available in the App) but for a quick post it works. Well, the problem I had is that I post mostly to my personal blog, but one of my projects blog was the default and I didn’t knew how to set a default. I event asked for help.
Well, today I discovered that it is possible.
First, you need to go to WordPress.com and go to your account settings.
Then go to the Account settings section.
And there just select your default blog. hit save and you are done!.
How is that I didn’t do this before?.
I had this issue today, I was unable to login to my wordpress site. I first thought that “in some way” the password was changed (like that time that I ask “lastpass” to generate new passwords) but still with the new password I was unable to log in.
I made the change in database directly, then used wp_set_password (‘password’, $ID) in wp-themes/theme/functions.php with no luck :-(.
The problem was pretty… baffling, there was a plugin conflict that prevent me to log in to the admin area.
I think login to the admin area should be one of those things that you should be able to do no matter if there is a plugin error, and those errors which should not be able to ‘crash’ the site in any way.
So, if you have similar issue, not being able to login to the wp-admin area even if the password is correct try this:
I hope this works for you and saves you some hair and time.
A really interesting post about how the wordpress desktop app was built, and moving to another programming language (and technologies) from PHP.

Basically looks like the wordpress.com site in a frame. And there is one thing that needs to improve, something that needs to change also in the mobile app (iPhone, iPad and possibly in Android too): Integration.
Yes, wordpress needs to integrate with the system, WordPress is by many people used as a CMS more than a blogging system. Many “news” sites use wordpress, maybe they do need to enter to the desktop/web app to write all that stuff, but others use wordpress as a simple blog system.
In a simple blog system not always things are big posts, maybe you just want to share some pictures.
Maybe you want to share just one picture. Maybe you just want to do a quick share.
I mean, is good and other apps like blogo might be wondering what to do with this new official app, what would be the added value that a user will make it use blogo instead of wordpress desktop app, but still, to me a killer feature would be: Integration with the system.
Have you been in tumblr?, I bet you did. There are lots blogs to share (pr0n) gifs, they do the “reblog” feature that I like a lot, in wordpress it is called “press it” and that is nice, having an integration with the system would be awesome, that would really make it a “desktop” app.
There is a way to post by sending an email, and that’s also great, but not having to rely on your email to share an image is great, something like this can make the trick.
I hope this feature to be added soon in both, the desktop and mobile apps.
If you have been using WordPress for a long time this may sound dumb since you may had this option for a long time, I just discovered.
Tumblr is the biggest competition to wordpress, one of its key feature is the “reblog” where you can just reblog a post and have it in your blog. So, we can see blogs that are entirely reblogs, from multiple sites and sometimes it is easier to just follow that blog because they have information from multiple sources you don’t have to be looking for.
To me this is a good thing, not to “steal” content from other blogs, but I see that some sites like Twitter and Facebook, they live because of the content we display on them, its like a deal, you let me use your service for free, you put ads in the timeline and live with the content I’m creating. I’ve been trying to keep my stuff with me and by myself, aside from flickr, my blog, my email and other stuff is with me, I’m not a purist, I use Gmail and some other services, but what belongs to me and I do care about it is in my server and with my services.
So, if I post to twitter, to me is good to share via my blog, so you can visit my blog too.
“Press this” is not just a “reblog” system, I can add text so I can add a comment to that post, so I share that post, and since I add my point of view and more importantly I’m adding a link to the source I’m not stealing any content.
